Outreach

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me

something to drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me,

I was in prison and you visited me." (Matthew 25:35-36)

Outreach seeks ways to engage the congregation in a continued awareness of those in need around us on both a local level and global level. Its ministry includes providing goods, services and funds to individuals, families and organizations within and outside of our parish, including:

  • Financial support of local organizations, such as Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Bethesda Mission, New Hope Ministries and St. Barnabas Ministries.

  • Providing Christmas gifts for the children of prison inmates through the Angel Tree program.

  • Supporting winter coat and clothing drives for Bethesda Mission and other local charities that lend assistance to the homeless and low-income people of our surrounding area.

  • Collecting food for the local food bank every Sunday through New Hope Ministries.

Our newest Outreach Ministry is St. Luke's Little Free Pantry. The red pantry box stands in front of the church beside our Children's Little Free Library.

Food Pantry stocked with food.                   Food pantry and Little libray

We invite anyone interested to join us at our meetings or to come out and work with us on a project. We rely on many, many hands.
