St. Luke's Welcomes You!
An Affirming Church
St. Luke's welcomes all people with open arms, regardless of race, religion, national origin, age, education, income, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. We believe that each of us is made in God's image — beautiful and beloved, unique and whole. We work for the day when all are treated as equals in our families and communities. We are a Believe Outloud Episcopal Congregation.
Mobility Concerns
Two handicapped parking spaces are immediately in front of our main doors. A ramp leads to our red doors, which open to our airy gathering space. Bathrooms that accommodate wheelchairs are available on this level. A lift, operated by our well trained ushers, traverses the half flight of stairs to our Sanctuary. Our pews are configured to accomodate wheelchairs.
Gluten Concerns
Gluten-free wafers are available at every communion. The priest places a small, round container with gluten-free wafers on the communion plate. As the priest approaches, simply say "gluten-free." Take a wafer from the container, since the priest has already touched wheat wafers, and does not want to contaminate yours.
At coffee hour and other fellowship activities, we offer gluten-free alternatives. If you are not sure of an item, fellowship volunteers will gladly find the answer for you.
Wine/Alcohol Concerns
We have a non-alcoholic alternative for wine at communion.
At the few fellowship activities where alcohol is served, it is limited to wine, served only to people over the age of 21, similarly attractive non-alcoholic beverages are abundantly available, and no one is over-served.
