What will you discover at St. Luke's?
-
People who care about each other and the world around us
-
Engaging worship and enthusiastic music, and
-
Opportunities to grow spiritually, have fun, and share fellowship
We hope that you will give us a try.
At our Sunday services —
-
The red doors on Keller Street open into our friendly gathering space. To the right and up a half fight of stairs is our Sanctuary, where an usher will welcome you warmly and hand you a copy of our worship booklet. -
Are stairs a challenge? Find more about accessiblity here.
-
Children are always welcomed at worship. Alternatively, a nursery and children's Sunday School are offered beginning at 9:15 AM. Find more about our children's program here. We encourage parents using those services to retrieve their children at announcement time, so that the whole family can receive communion together.
-
Find a seat in our sanctuary. Feel free to sit wherever you are most comfortable. Our worship booklet contains everything you need to know to participate in worship. Hymn numbers listed in the booklet correspond to the songs in one of several hymnals located in the rack in front of each pew. -
Just before the "We Gather at the Table" section of the worship booklet, the priest will say, "The peace of the Lord be always with you." The congregation responds together, "And also with you." Then everyone "shares the peace" with their neighbors by repeating the phrase and shaking hands or hugging. You are welcomed to participate, or not, whichever is comfortable to you.
-
At communion time, all persons seeking a closer walk with Christ are welcome to receive Holy Communion - both the bread and the wine (or grape juice), either element alone, or a simple blessing. People who wish a blessing, are welcomed to come forward as well. To indicate that you wish a blessing only, cross your hands over your heart. Gluten-free wafers are available. Find more about communion here.
-
If for any reason you prefer to stay in your seat, please know that you are still a valued part of our worship community.
-
After service, please join us for coffee, treats, and conversation in the parish hall, directly beyond the gathering space as you leave the Sanctuary.
At our Thursday worship —
-
Follow the directions above to the Sanctuary doors and turn left to enter our Chapel. You’ll join a warm and welcoming group of people who will be happy to meet you.
-
One of the group will hand you a worship booklet that will include everything you need to participate in the service.
-
Before communion, the priest may invite anyone who so wishes to come forward for healing prayer and laying on of hands.
As each person steps forward, the pr
iest gently touches their head as he/she says a special prayer for healing. You are welcomed to join in or stay seated. You are also welcomed, if you wish, to join in communion.
