St. Luke's Episcopal Church

Privacy Policy · Terms of Service · Data deletion

This privacy policy describes how St. Luke's Episcopal Church (stlukesmech.org) collects, uses, and shares information. It is for every way you might meet this site: browsing as a visitor, using an account, booking or buying, donating, subscribing, sending a message, working on the site, or arriving from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, email, or search. This site is operated with the Digital Faith platform.

Address: 8 East Keller Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
Contact: admin.st.lukes@verizon.net
Phone: (717) 766-5182

Who this policy covers

  • Visitors who read public pages without signing in.
  • People who use this site with an account, including email sign-in and Facebook Login or Google where those are offered.
  • People who book, buy, donate, subscribe, comment, or send a message (end users of the site’s services).
  • People who work on the site (administrators and editors) and connect social accounts to publish.
  • People who see us on social media. Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn have their own policies. This policy covers what we collect if you click through to this site, sign in here, or if staff publish content from this site to those networks.

Information we collect

Visitors

When you browse without an account we may record pages viewed, browser type, referring site (including a social network or search engine), approximate location from IP address, and similar technical data used to operate and improve the site. Public visitor measurement on this platform is designed not to identify individual people. Signed-in sessions use cookies.

People who use this site (accounts)

If you create an account or sign in we store the profile information needed to authenticate you and show what you are allowed to see: name, email address, password or sign-in identifiers, and role. If you use Facebook Login or Google, we receive the identifiers and profile details those services send us to complete sign-in.

Bookings, purchases, messages, subscriptions, and donations

If this site takes bookings (for example tours or events), orders, donations, newsletter sign-ups, comments, or contact forms, we store what you submit so we can fulfill the request and get back to you. Card numbers are handled by a payment processor such as Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on this site. If you provide a mobile number and opt in to text messaging, we store that number and your consent so we can send the messages you requested.

Staff and social publishing

Administrators may connect a Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, or LinkedIn account so they can publish site content there. Those connections provide account identifiers, names, pages or organizations they can manage, and access tokens. We do not use that staff data to sign in ordinary visitors or customers.

How we use information

We use this information to:

  • operate, secure, and improve this website;
  • create and maintain accounts;
  • fulfill bookings, purchases, and similar requests;
  • respond to inquiries and comments;
  • send newsletters or notices you signed up for;
  • send text messages you opted in to receive;
  • process donations and related receipts;
  • publish content that staff choose to share on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn;
  • understand how people find the site, including from social media;
  • comply with law and protect the site, the people who use it, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Google data for unrelated advertising, resale, or profiling.

Sharing

We share information only as needed to run this site:

  • Hosting and email. The Digital Faith platform and its infrastructure providers (including email delivery) process information on our behalf.
  • Payment and booking providers. Payments and some bookings are processed by Stripe or another provider configured for this site.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram). When staff connect a Page or publish an article, we send Meta the content and the account data required to authenticate and post. If this site offers Facebook Login, Meta also processes that sign-in. Meta’s use of information is governed by Meta’s own policies.
  • LinkedIn and Google. Used when staff publish to LinkedIn or when someone signs in with Google, as configured here.
  • Analytics. If this site has configured Google Analytics or a similar tool, that provider may receive usage data as described in its own policy.
  • Legal requests. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the site.

SMS and Mobile Information

When you provide a mobile number and opt in to text messaging, St. Luke's Episcopal Church uses that number to send the messages described when consent is collected, such as responses to estimate requests, project or service updates, scheduling, and appointment reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, or request assistance by replying HELP.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with subcontractors that support the messaging service, such as messaging providers and telecommunications carriers, only as necessary to deliver and support the messages you requested.

All other sharing categories described in this policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be sold, rented, bought, shared, or transferred to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Facebook, Instagram, and other social networks

You can use public pages on this site without Facebook. Social plugins (such as a Like button) or embedded posts, if shown, are provided by Meta or the relevant network and may collect data under that network’s policy even if you do not have an account here.

Staff Facebook and Instagram connections are for publishing from this website to a Page or professional Instagram account. We request only the permissions needed to list Pages, publish, and (where linked) post to Instagram. Staff can disconnect the integration in Social settings and revoke access from Meta, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

If you only see our posts while you are on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, those companies—not this site—handle that browsing unless you click through to us, sign in here, or send us information directly.

Your rights and data deletion

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal or operational exceptions (for example payment records we must retain). Instructions for visitors, people who use this site, and people on social media are on our Data deletion page.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Retention

We keep information while your account, booking, subscription, or staff connection is active, and for as long afterward as needed to operate the site, complete payments, resolve disputes, and meet legal duties.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
