This is St. Luke's version of an English tradition begun in 1918 by Kings College, Cambridge, to help a country ravaged by World War I find solace and hope in the Christmas Story. It is a series of Bible readings interspersed with Advent hymns and Christmas carols. Although this recording stops at the Peace, which is the conclusion of the Liturgy of the Word, or the first part of the service, the congregation continued with the Eucharistic Prayer, or Holy Communion.
We hope that these readings, hymns, and prayers will bring you solace and joy in the coming year.
